Greetings Friends of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign!
Did you know that April is Abortion Recovery Month?
A few years ago, leaders of abortion recovery programs asked governors to declare April a month devoted to raising awareness about the abortion after-care programs that exist throughout the world to help women and men struggling with pain and regret after the loss of their aborted child[ren].
If you have not attended a healing program yet, we strongly urge you to do so.
Georgette often tells the story of how she declined the invitation to attend a healing program after 19 years of denying the truth that her abortion ended the life of her child. Her friend who was the program facilitator lovingly pursued her, finally cajoling her to just attend the first week! And every week afterwards, the friend would call on Tuesday to make sure she would be coming to class that night! By the 6th week, Georgette could embrace the program and acknowledge how much the program helped her address emotions she had bottled up and stuffed for years.
Some of you may also be declining offers to attend healing programs. We have a myriad of reasons why 'now is not a good time' but experience shows that there is never a good time to submit ourselves to recalling painful memories but NOW is a great time to say yes to help in stopping the endless cycles of pain.
This is especially true as Mother's Day and Father's Day are right around the corner and are often times when our loss is most evident.

A Note from Our Pastoral Director….
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
On March 27th, we observed the one year anniversary of the death of Mother Angelica, who founded the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN).
I wanted to take this occasion to recall how much she did for the Silent No More Awareness Campaign. By opening her network to Priests for Life, she brought our joint work to the attention of literally hundreds of millions of people in over 140 countries and territories. Through interviews with me, through programs featuring Janet Morana, Georgette Forney, and many of the members of our Campaign, as well as through the series she personally asked me to start -- Defending Life -- for which we are taping the 32nd season this month, many people came to know of the healing and hope to which the Silent No More Awareness Campaign is a powerful witness.
In the coverage EWTN gives to the March for Life and other pro-life events, by radio, television, internet and publishing, the Campaign is frequently mentioned on screen and by the commentators, and the testimonies have often been broadcast in their entirety.
And Mother Angelica herself, in the many programs on which she interviewed me personally, never once failed to mention the pain of the women and men who have lost children to abortion, and the healing available through God's mercy. In fact, when she was having the Shrine in Hanceville, AL built, she told me that she wanted it to be a place where people could find healing from abortion.
So the Silent No More Awareness Campaign has much to be thankful for, and Mother Angelica deserves much credit for connecting people to this ministry. May her memory and teaching continue to inspire all of us to proclaim the Gospel of Life and Mercy.

In Conclusion...
As blossoms burst forth from trees and the ground during this Spring, may they remind us of God's promise to make us new as we bring our painful pasts to Him. Our forgiveness and hope are found in His love and through the awesome Abortion Recovery healing programs available to you. Embrace healing and embrace new life.
