Brandon Gillespie, a student at Rocklin High School in Sacramento, California, saw an opportunity for a pro-life walkout after students across the country staged walkouts against access to guns and gun violence in schools. One of Gillespie's teachers, Julianne Benzel, was placed on administrative leave after asking the students if they think there is a double standard and if there were an abortion walkout, whether the school would support it as they supported the gun violence walkout. That got Gillespie thinking. "My teacher was placed on administrative leave because she simply asked the question of is there is a double standard," Gillespie told Live Action News. "That really inspired me and I wanted to put that to the test and see if the school district would allow a walkout for students with a more conservative topic." And the great news is that this #ProLifeWalkout movement is starting to go viral online as we have over 140 schools signed up to participate, and the media is starting to take notice! On Wednesday, April 11th, pro-life students will walk out of their classes for 17 minutes of silence and prayer to honor the 10 preborn babies who will violently die during that time at the hands of Planned Parenthood abortionists. Already, we've launched a website, prolifewalkout.org, where we're directing students to sign up to participate in the walkout. After students sign up, we'll provide them with all the information they need – from pro-life icebreakers to help shy pro-lifers start conversations with their peers, to a checklist of facts about abortion that debunk the Abortion Lobby's talking points, and valuable coaching to prepare them to deal with potentially hostile media interviews. With the pro-life walk out, Gillespie seeks to answer the question of whether "Not One More" applies to all children, regardless of their age or birth status. The walkout is scheduled to take place on April 11, 2018 at 10:00am and last for 17 minutes to honor the lives of the millions of children lost to abortion. In March, approximately 3,000 public schools across the nation gave students permission to walk out of classes to protest gun control laws as an expression of their free speech. In response, Brandon Gillespie, announced his plans for a comparable free speech pro-life demonstration. To view Gillespie's tweet click here. Students seeking to participate in the pro-life walkout should follow standard school policies and get the necessary permission from their school prior to the walk out. Richard Thompson, TMLC President and Chief Counsel stated that the "Law Center will provide legal help, free of charge, to students as they prepare to exercise their constitutional rights to stand up for life and to students who encounter a pro-abortion double standard at their schools." | | | | | | This email is being sent as a courtesy from Pro-Life Action Network Inc Pro-Life Action Network Inc - The Ann Arbor Life Chain and 40 Days For Life Ann Arbor People "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 Pro-Life Action Network Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
