Upcoming Pro-Life Events for Feb., March and Beyond…

On Tuesday, Feb. 12th attend a Black History Month Presentation by Pastor Levon Yuille at 7:00 pm at The Bible Church, 611 E Cross, Ypsi. The 2013 Black History Month Life Speaker Series events are free of charge and open to the public. For more events & info go to www.rtl.org.  Donation of new unopened package of diapers &/or baby wipes to benefit Family Life Services gratefully accepted.

There will be a training meeting for sidewalk counselors and prayers and those interested in learning about this work. The meeting will be held Tuesday, February 12th, 7-9pm at St. Lucy's Church, 23401 Jefferson Ave, St. Clair Shores. We meet in one of the school classrooms, which is directly behind the church. Refreshments will be served. Please come and bring a friend.   

Ann Arbor 40 Days for Life to Open Spring 2013 Campaign with Prayer Rally!
The Ann Arbor 40 Days for Life group will open the Spring 2013 Campaign with a special twist: an “O Come All Ye Faithful” Kick-Off Prayer Rally. From 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 13, groups of at least three people – parish choirs, Bible study groups, families, youth groups – are encouraged to sign up for one-hour slots of prayer in front of Planned Parenthood, 3100 professional Drive.

Ann Arbor is one of  hundreds of communities from coast to coast conducting simultaneous 40 Days for Life campaigns from Ash Wednesday, February 13, through Palm Sunday, March 24, coinciding with the Christian season of Lent. The campaign in Ann Arbor will feature a peaceful prayer vigil 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Local pro-life advocates are encouraged to visit the Ann Arbor campaign’s website, www.40daysforlife.com/annarbor, to sign up for an hour of prayer in front of Planned Parenthood, 3100 Professional Drive, Ann Arbor.  To learn more about 40 Days for Life, visit: www.40daysforlife.com. "Life of A People - Black Genocide" coming to campus:  Eastern Michigan University, sponsored by Right to Life of Michigan and the EMU Students for Life on Monday, Feb. 18th  from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the EMU Library Auditorium, GO3 Halle Library, 955 W Circle Drive at the intersection of Oakwood and West Circle Drive, Ypsilanti. Family Life Services will be holding A Winter Gala at The Yankee Air Museum Thurs. March 7th. Dinner is complimentary but registration is necessary to attend.  Join us for a wonderful evening and help fund the clinic in 2013. The program theme will be "Bringing our communities back to Life!" and delicious food will be provided by local favorite, The Moveable Feast.  There will also be an opportunity for a self-guided tour of the museum. “Using Calm, Cool Logic to Dismantle Pro-Choice Views” * A Young Adult Pro-Life Conference!
Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 Ave Maria Dr. in Ann Arbor is the host site for a pro-life “not to be missed” event taking place on Saturday, March 9th from 10:00am to 5:00pm. This conference will equip young adults and other pro-life people with tools to present and debate life issues using logic, science and philosophy.  All high school and college age young adults are welcomed!  Register on-line at: ctkcc.net. On May 30th, 2013 – Mother and Unborn Baby Care Presents Defending Life in a Post Christian World with Guest Speaker Scott Klusendorf – CEO of Life Training Institute, at Farmington Hills Manor, located at 23666 Orchard Lake Road, Farmington Hills, MI. The cost is $25.00 per student; $50.00 per adult (This includes Hor d’oeuvre’s, dinner, beer, wine). Registration will be from 5:30 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. The program will run from 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. Scott Klusendorf founded the Life Training Institute to train pro-lifers to effectively get our message across, with the goal of saving lives.  Scott works with the youth – specifically Catholics and Protestants, and anyone else who wants to work to save life, to make a case for life in the public square. He focuses on going into Catholic and Protestant high schools, as well as doing assemblies, classes and presentations that communicate the moral logic of the Pro-Life view.  He teaches the students how to argue persuasively for the pro-life view using science and philosophy. On Friday, May 31st there will be a training session with Scott Klusendorf, founder of the Life Training Institute, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 47650 North Territorial Road, Plymouth from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. New – On-Going Baby Needs Collection 
Pro-lifers have been super generous in providing much needed items for the wonderful pregnancy help centers in our area!  Many of you have expressed a need for an ongoing collection point. Now, you can drop off baby items anytime in the collection baskets located at the Christ The King Pro-Life Information Center in the Narthex (in the church) – across from the cry room. Christ The King Catholic Church is located at 4000 Ave Maria Dr in Ann Arbor, (near Domino’s Farms).  We will collect and distribute the items on a rotating basis to the pregnancy help centers in our area.  We hope this helps those who want so much to help!! If you have a large item – please contact Brigid bak.aa47@gmail.com or Marge mlskr@aol.com for special handling.
