Ann Arbor Kickoff Rally: The Ann Arbor 40 DFL Kickoff Rally will take place on Tuesday, March 4th from 7:00pm until 9:00pm in the Christ The King Catholic Church Parish Center (Red Barn), 4000 Ave Maria Drive near Domino’s Farms. Following her 18th birthday, keynote speaker, Travon Clifton learned that she was conceived in rape as told by her mother.  Initially, the news was emotionally devastating, but in the process of time by the grace of God through bible study, worship, prayer, forgiveness and service, she has found the courage to share her testimony and to encourage women to choose life, especially under difficult circumstances. We would like to extend a special invitation to those who believe we must keep abortion legal because of the rape and incest cases.

Rounding out the program are Deacon Larry Randolph with Christ the King Catholic Church, Pastor Ted Jungkuntz with St. Luke Lutheran, emcee Alan Wegienka from Our Lady of Good Counsel and music with Bryan Alfonso. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet area pro-life leaders and enjoy light refreshments. Children are always welcome!  Join us - support the 40 Days for Life effort and speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Prolife leaders and citizen activists, join us for the annual Right to Life of Michigan's Legislative Day event, Tuesday, March 11th, at the Radisson Hotel in Lansing. Registration begins at 8:45.  Have lunch with your legislator and find out more about the Abortion Opt Out Law that goes into effect March 14. We also welcome special guest speakers Brad & Jesi Smith. The Smiths prolife views were tested when they received the news that their 5th child, Faith, was diagnosed in the womb with Trisomy 18. A grave and frequently fatal medical condition, Faith was not expected to survive long after her birth. This resulted in multiple doctors advising them to abort their daughter. After birth and throughout Faith's childhood, many doctors and hospitals were reluctant to offer lifesaving treatment options.  You won't want to miss the Smith's tell their story challenging society's often low view of the most vulnerable of human lives. You can reserve your seat today by registering online at www.rtl.org or mail in your reservation.  For more information please call (517)487-3376 or email LEGISDAY@RTL.ORG.

Update on Our 20 Week Pain Capable Abortion Ban Initiative: Dear Friends--   I want to let you know the status of this effort.  CPLS has retained the services of the American Freedom Law Center to research the jurisdictional issue regarding municipalities' powers to regulate abortion clinics and practice. The research does take time--  Robert Muise-- Senior Counsel for AFLC is very diligently doing the research and he believes that the best route for us is not via the Michigan Home Rule Act-- but through local zoning and nuisance ordinances. He is currently examining these issues as they relate specifically to Lathrup Village and will even attend any meeting we set up with that city.   We will then need to customize the 20 week pain capable statute to fit the zoning/nuisance abatement laws. Right now we just need to wait for AFLC to finish its research-- SO STAY TUNED--   and PRAY!   God bless you all--   Monica of CPLS (Citizens For a Pro-Life Society)

UN COMMITTEE ATTACKS CATHOLIC CHURCH * TELLS CHURCH TO CHANGE TEACHING ON ABORTION * TELLS CHURCH TO LET KIDS HAVE SEX Do you find these headlines troubling? C-FAM has launched a global Campaign in Defense of the Holy See at the UN. Austin Ruse. President, Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute urges you to go to www.defendtheholysee.com right now and sign the Declaration in Support of the Holy See. Invite your friends and family to sign the petition.  “If you are Catholic, sign! If you are Evangelical, sign! If you are Jewish, sign. Muslim, sign! The Church represents all people of good will at the UN. If the Church was not there, abortion would now be a human right in UN documents. The family would be redefined. Religious freedom would come under further attack.”
